Our Environmental Promise
Palmetto Road sources products from two different manufacturers who adhere to strict guidelines for health and environmental safety as determined by the U.S. Government and California Air Resources Board (CARB). All Palmetto Road products are manufactured in facilities that have been certified by highly reputable, independent Third-Party Certifiers to meet CARB II standards for extremely low levels of formaldehyde emissions.
The independent Third Party Certifiers include one or more of the following:
- SGS, Société Générale de Surveillance
- SCS, Scientific Certification Systems
- PFS Corporation
Palmetto Road flooring products have earned the following Third-Party Certifications:
California Air Resources Board (CARB) Phase II certification validates that wood and laminate products meet strict standards for acceptable levels of formaldehyde emissions. Palmetto Road engineered hardwood and laminate collections have all been CARB II certified.
FloorScore® tests and certifies hard surface flooring is in compliance with stringent indoor air quality emissions. Palmetto Road Hickory hardwood collection and Veranda by Palmetto Road Charleston Collection have both earned this certification. All Palmetto Road waterproof flooring has also earned this certification.
Additional Environmental Standards:
Palmetto Road hardwood manufacturers strictly adhere to the federal Lacey Act. All our hardwood comes from certified green, self-renewing sources where trees are farmed and replanted. Additionally, all hardwood finishes are eco-friendly, HAPs-free and give off zero VOC’s, as well as, surpass all KCMA coating performance standards.
All Palmetto Road waterproof collections are made with phthalate free materials. Palmetto Road uses only safe, non ortho-phthalate plasticizers in all of its vinyl flooring products. Plasticizers are used in manufacturing vinyl flooring to add properties to the products such as resilience, durability, strength, and flexibility, to name a few.
